"Happy Navarathri Everyone!!"

Today, let us know about the incarnation of Lord Sakthi to whom this fourth day of Navarathri dedicated forЁЯСЗЁЯСЗ

Navarathri Fourth Day

Goddess Kushmanda who is the creator of universe

The fourth day of Navarathri is dedicated to the goddess Kushmanda. The word "ku" means "small", the word "ushma" means "heat energy" and the word "anda" means "egg" and here "anda" refers "the cosmical egg." Combining the meaning of the words, the name of this goddess reveals that she is the creator of the cosmical egg (the creator of this universe).

Now, let us know about the amazing story of this avatar of Lord Durga.

Once, there was nothing in the universe and darkness existed all over the universe. So, Devi Kushmanda smiled and the radiance of her smile created light in the universe. It is believed that, she created Mahakaali from her left eye and Mahalakshmi from her third eye and Mahasaraswathi from her right eye.

Mahakaali represents the heat energy, Mahalakshmi represents the light energy and Mahasaraswathi represents the sound energy of the universe. These three represent the basic energies of the universe. Thus, Devi Kushmanda is the primary energy of the whole universe.

From the body of Mahakaali, a male and female took birth. Kushamanda devi named the male with ten hands and five heads as Shiva and Female with one hand and four heads as Saraswathi.

From the body of Mahalakshmi, a male and female took birth. The male with five heads and four arms was named as Brahma and the female with one head and four arms was named as Lakshmi by Kushmanda devi.

From the body of Mahasaraswathi, a male and female took birth. Kushmanda devi named the male with four arms and one head as Vishnu and named the female as Shakthi who has one head with four arms.

Then Devi Kushmanda offered Sakthi to Lord Shiva, Lakshmi to Lord Vishnu and Saraswathi to Lord Brahma as their partners. Then, the work of creating, protecting and destructing the beings of the world was given to Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva respectively by Maathaa Kushmanda.

After creating the universe, it is believed that, she went to the center of the sun and she is the one who gives the energy for sun to produce heat and light. She has the divine appearance with eight arms riding on a lioness. She was holding Chakra, Bow and arrow, Lotus, kamandal, jebamaala and a pot of nectar.

Let us praise the creator of the universe in this auspicious day and let her shower all of us with the energy to defeat all the hard hurdles easily.
